QUALIFICATION:
Master Degree in Environmental Science or Bachelor/Masters in Environmental Engineering or related field
EXPERIENCE:
10 yrs. to 25 yrs. in Environmental, Health and Safety Field with Development, Infrastructure and Oil and Gas Project
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage environmental projects, including managing staff and budgets and coordinating activities.
- Direct staff in providing excellent customer service to all external and internal customers.
- Plan, direct and coordinate, through subordinate level staff; assign projects and programmatic areas of responsibility; review and evaluate work methods and procedures
- Analyzing the current practices of contracted clients and identifying points where environmental sustainability improved.
- Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of environmental services.
- Prepare of Environmental Assessment Studies and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) for various industries.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposal and execution of awarded projects.
- Train HSE staff of various contracted companies in terms environmental permit condition, pollution prevention, waste management, emergency management, hazardous material handling and storage.
- Prepare and review environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) studies, Terms of reference (TOR), climate impact assessment (CIA), environmental management plan (CEMP, OEMP, DEMP) study, Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), Preliminary Environmental Review (PER), and emergency response plan (ERP) for industrial, development and infrastructure projects).
- Perform environmental compliance audit
- Prepare and review monitoring reports, Marine and terrestrial ecological survey report and Tree Assessment Survey.
- Planning and executing fieldwork.
- Liaison with supplier, client and regulatory authorities.
JOB TITLE: Environment Consultant (1 vacancy)
Qualification:
Master Degree in Environmental Science or Bachelor/Masters in Environmental Engineering or related field.
Experience:
3 yrs. to 12 yrs. in Environmental consultancy and monitoring field.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) studies, climate impact assessment (CIA), environmental management plan (CEMP, OEMP, DEMP) study, Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), Preliminary Environmental Review (PER), and emergency response plan (ERP) for industrial, development and infrastructure projects).
- Perform environmental monitoring (stack emission, air quality, water quality at marine/freshwater, noise level, solid wastes).
- Planning and executing fieldwork including environmental moniotring.
- Collecting water, sediment and biological samples at sea.
- Perform Terrestrial and marine ecological survey, flora and fauna identification
- Applying technical and scientific knowledge in sampling and assessment of benthic infauna, pelagic, zooplankton, phytoplankton, fish egg and larvae and fisheries biology.
- Ability to carry out aquatic ecosystem health assessments for environmental monitoring projects.
- Marine benthic and inter tidal habitat survey and mapping.
- Conduct research on behaviors of marine life in the ocean.
- Conduct mangrove survey and assess impact from anthropogenic activity
- Interpreting data from fieldwork and prepare environmental baseline survey or monitoring reports.
- Preserve specimens and samples of known and unknown species.
- Conduct regular site inspection to the awarded construction / operation project and prepare daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly or other periodic reports.
- Perform environmental compliance audit
- Prepare Environmental Action Plan, Site Assessment and Remediation.
- Prepare Waste Management Plan and Emergency management Plan.
- Preparing proposals and environmental reports under direction of senior consultant/MD.
- Managing tasks according to scopes of work, and delivering high quality reports on time and within budget.
- Liaison with supplier, client and regulatory authorities.
